Mission & Objectives

Orange Babies South Africa is part of the Dutch Orange Babies charitable foundation or NGO, organised around a single purpose and driven by unfailing hope. Our purpose, is to transform the lives of women and children infected and affected by HIV/ AIDS in Southern Africa. Our NGO’s ultimate hope, is to help achieve an HIV-free generation. Since 1999, Orange Babies has translated this hope into saving thousands of lives. We have also assisted in drastically improving the quality of life for scores of others. This has been achieved by partnering with, and providing financial support to, carefully selected organisations in South Africa, Namibia and Zambia that directly assist the most vulnerable communities in these countries.

For Orange Babies, waiting is not an option and we therefore focus on:

Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT)

Orange Babies’ Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTC) initiatives are geared to reducing the risk of HIV transmission from pregnant women to their babies. Through information campaigns, such as Keep the Negatives Negative, we help to prevent HIV-negative mothers from becoming infected with HIV.

Care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)

Our carefully selected partner organisations provide medical care, nutrition, education and daily support to babies and children infected with HIV or children otherwise affected by HIV/AIDS. Orange Babies supports these organisations by providing vital funding, strategic partnerships and where appropriate, technical support.
